Durante l’estate abbiamo fotografato una nuova villa sul lago di Garda, nuovo progetto dell’architetto Pier Solieri, con cui abbiamo, ormai, una lunga storia di collaborazioni. Il progetto è una villa unifamiliare e i nostri scatti l’hanno ritratta sia negli interni che negli esterni, spesso in dialogo tra loro. Guardando da dentro verso l’ambiente circostante la verticalità delle linee, l’assenza di distorsione e di linee cadenti ci sono stati utili per sottolineare la successione di elementi di differenti texture, consistenze e colori che creano un susseguirsi di piani e di ambienti differenti in grado, come quinte teatrali, di svelare il panorama circostante. Abbiamo scelto di aspettare, invece, un’ora precisa per fotografare l’esterno della villa, non ancora sera ma non più pomeriggio abbiamo scattato nel momento di transizione nel quale l’illuminazione artificiale ha cominciato ad avere la sua importanza ma la fievole luce del sole era ancora in grado di mettere in luce materiali e forme della facciata.

Last summer, we went to Garda Lake to take pictures of a new project by the architect Pier Solieri, with whom we have a long history of collaboration. The project is a single-family villa, and our shots portrayed it both inside and outside, often in dialogue with each other. Looking from the inside towards the surrounding environment, the vertical lines, the absence of distortion and vanishing lines were useful to emphasize the succession of elements with different textures, consistencies, and colors. These elements are able to create a sequence of planes and different spaces capable, like theatrical backdrops, of revealing the surrounding panorama. Instead, we chose to wait for a specific hour to photograph the exterior of the villa, not yet evening but no longer afternoon. We took the shots during the transitional moment when artificial lighting began to play its role, but the soft sunlight was still able to highlight the materials and shapes of the facade.
