IL WHITNEY MUSEUM DI NEW YORK: UN’ESPERIENZA VISUALE IN CONTINUITÀ CON LA CITTÀ

Mi piace andare nei musei e perdermi tra le sale ed osservare, oltre alle opere esposte, i visitatori che si muovono abitando temporaneamente gli spazi.

Nella nuova sede del Whitney Museum di N.Y. progettato da Renzo Piano e appena inaugurato, le persone sono attratte dagli spazi esterni non meno che dalle sale ricche di opere d’arte moderna, quasi che le visioni urbane, viste da scale e passerelle aeree proiettate nel vuoto, siano esse stesse nuove opere che cambiano però col cambiare della luce diurna.

I like to go to museums and getting lost among the rooms and to observe together with exhibited artworks, visitors that move all around, living temporarily the space.

In the new location of the just opened Whitney Museum of N.Y., designed by Renzo Piano, people are as attracted to outdoor areas as they are to rooms full of modern art, as if the urban visions, viewed from stairs and walkways projected into sky, are themselves new artworks that change with the change of daylight.
