IL PROGETTO DELL’ HIGH LINE ARRICCHISCE IL PAESAGGIO URBANO DI NEW YORK

L’High Line è un parco lineare lungo più di 2 km,  ad opera degli architetti  Diller Scofidio + Renfro con i paesaggisti Field Operations,  realizzata su una sezione in disuso della ferrovia sopraelevata chiamata West Side Line,  abbandonata nel 1980, che sfilava dentro New York da sud a nord costeggiando l’Hudson River.

Passeggiando si possono trovare installazioni di vari artisti, permanenti o temporanee, come i Graffiti tridimensionali in ferro battuto di Damian Ortega.

Grazie a questo progetto è stato riqualificato anche tutto il lungo fiume, con progetti di archistar come Jean Nouvelle, Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano e Richard Meier

Sull’High Line ogni anno passano quasi 5 milioni di persone, che fanno di tutto, passeggiano, dormono, si incontrano e fanno attività fisica, diventando parte integrante del progetto e dell’architettura urbana.

The High Line is a linear park along more than 2 km, made by the architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro within the landscapers Field Operations, built on a disued section of the elevated railway called the West Side Line, abandoned in 1980, who marched in New York from south to north along the Hudson River.

Walking around you can find installations of various artists, permanent or temporary, such as three-dimensional Graffiti in wrought iron by Damian Ortega.

Thanks to this project new requalifications all along the river were made, with the projects  of archistars like Jean Nouvelle, Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano and Richard Meier.

Every year nearly 5 million people pass by the High Line, doing everything, walking, sleeping, meeting and making physical activity,  and of course becoming an integral part of the project and the urban architecture.
