AEROPORTO DI DOHA: IL PROGETTO DELLO STUDIO ANTONIO CITTERIO PATRICIA VIEL INTERIORS COMPLETA LE SUE LOUNGES

In occasione della pubblicazione su Domus, vi mostro le foto che ho fatto nel mio secondo viaggio verso l’aeroporto Hamad International di Doha. In questo caso sono stato a fotografare la Al Safwa First Class Lounge e la Vip Lounge.

Il complesso progetto che ha visto protagonista lo Studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors ha realizzato le prestigiose Lounges dell’aeroporto che si estendono su una superficie di 50.000 metri quadri, generando di fatto una “piccola” città lussuosa all’interno del nuovo aeroporto di Doha.

I materiali massicci, privi di finitura ma incisi, decorati e testurizzati, sono sicuramente il tema portante del progetto: l’intenzione è stata quella di generare esperienze sensoriali autentiche in un ambiente artificiale. I rivestimenti della Al Safwa First Lounge sono in pietra calcarea francese, e al suo interno si trovano una spa, un concept store, stanze private per il relax , sale giochi per i bambini, un bar e un ristorante.

Con un’atmosfera esclusiva di tipo completamento diverso, la VIP lounge consente di arrivare all’aereo tramite un percorso dedicato: i suoi spazi, caratterizzati da divisori interamente in vetro serigrafato, evocano un suggestivo labirinto di trasparenze e di ombre.

To mark the publication of Domus, I show you the pictures I did in my second trip to the Hamad International Airport of Doha.

In this case I photographed the Al Safwa First Class Lounge and the VIP Lounge.

The complex project that has seen protagonist the Studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors, has realized the prestigious Airport Lounges that extend over an area of 50,000 square metres, generating in fact a “small” setting town inside the new airport of Doha. The massive materials, without finishes but engraved, decorated and textured, are definitely the main theme of the project: the intention was to create authentic sensory experiences in an artificial environment. The coatings of Al Safwa First Lounge are French limestone, and inside you will find a spa, a concept store, private relaxation rooms, playrooms for children, a bar and a restaurant.

With an exclusive atmosphere of a different kind, the VIP lounge allows you to get to the aircraft via a dedicated path: its spaces, characterized by dividing entirely in etched glass, evoke a suggestive maze of transparency and shadows.
