IDENTITÀ URBANE

Paletti, archetti, cestini e dissuasori vari sparsi per la città mi fanno pensare che a Milano, la capitale del design, ben poca attenzione si sia dedicata alla progettazione di questi elementi di arredo urbano.

Con i materiali più eterogenei: inox, ghisa, cemento, acciaio, si è dato sfogo a forme singolari e che non hanno nessun legame stilistico tra loro. Si potrebbe fare un bando per la progettazione di questi elementi dell’arredo urbano mettendo al lavoro tanti bravi architetti e designer presenti nella nostra città per renderla ancora più bella, creando elementi identitari quanto lo sono le panchine verdi sparse in ogni luogo della città, in parchi e giardini, in centro come in periferia.

The huge number of poles, small arches, baskets, bollards all over the city makes me think that in Milan, capital of design, devoted a small attention to the design of these urban component.

Different and unusual shapes have been created with heterogeneous materials: inox, cast iron, concrete, steel but there isn’t any stylistic connection among them. It’d be great to issue a design ban to project these elements of urban space which can engage lot of good architects and designers living in our city. They could make it even more beautiful. They can even give an identity to the urban elements as it happens to the green benches allover of the city, in the parks and gardens, either in the city center or in the suburbs.
